Further exploring the reality of Antifa terrorism

"By any means necessary."

I think most people understand the down side of that philosophy.

Even when interviewed about their allegedly noble goals, members of Antifa still indicate that the end justifies the means.

But what if Antifa's end goal isn't a goal shared by most Americans?

Here is a video interview with Gabriel Nadales, former Antifa member, where he speaks about their tactics, their rationale, and their intentions:

Why I left Antifa | Gabriel Nadales

In it you find out the same recruitment tactics are used to gather new Antifa members that Islamic terrorist groups use, including the illusion of righteous empowerment to the disenfranchised.

In this Australian news video, the interviewee discusses several relevant points about the dangers of a decentralized movement like Antifa, such as the observation that every time a democracy has fallen it was due to mob rule:

Antifa is the world’s most ‘fascist Orwellian organisation’

One earmark of mob rule is groups taking to the streets and burning things down, as Hitler's Brownshirts did in the 1920's and 1930's.

In an interesting coincidence, Hitler's Brownshirts, more formally referred to as "The Sturmabteilung" (Stormtroopers, or "Storm Detachment"), had this for an insignia:

The Sturmabteilung insignia

Here is the anarchy symbol that Antifa identifies with:

Anarchy symbol

So sure, connecting the dots between those two symbols is a bit of a stretch, but of all designs for an allegedly anti-fascist group to use, perhaps it was just bad judgment and not blatant hypocrisy to adopt something so similar.

In an interesting twist, a news network often accused of being too far Left in its narratives actually produced this expose piece regarding Antifa in the summer of 2017, where Antifa members admit their willingness to stand up against fascism "by any means necessary" and they use violence because "you have to make it speak in the language that they understand, and sometimes that is violence":

Accusations of the video merely being far-right propaganda are somewhat contradicted, as the video was produced by CNN. Also, take a look at the up and down voting for that video. It sports one of the rare occurrences in YouTube when the down votes vastly outnumber the up votes.

The more negative votes are damage control by Antifa members? Who knows. But if the people who dislike the negative characterization of Antifa outnumber others by four to one, then perhaps we need to reexamine our values as a whole.

At the very least, we'd be wise to take Antifa more seriously as a threat to our currently free way of life in America.
