Logic of the lost

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! ... Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel." ---Isaiah 5:20+21,23+24

Ponder some of these retrospective transformations:
  • From "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" by the Hollies to "The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston.
  • From tolerance of those you disagree with to the forced celebration and participation in the activities of those you disagree with under threat of judgment, cancellation and possibly fines or jail time if you don't comply.
  • From the traditional understanding that to gain something in the world means you go out and earn it to the current understanding that the world owes you success and happiness.
  • From the social contract of agreeing to disagree to the social justice of vilification.
  • From the reasonable Martin Luther King Jr. state of integrated color blindness to the recent reinvigoration of racial segregation.
  • From satisfaction and recognition of hard fought competition to the pathetic mollification of participation trophies.
  • From the celebration of high academic achievement to the standardization of academic mediocrity.
  • From the basic recognition of the binary state of sexual biology that defined the natural world for thousands of years to the institutionally enforced introduction of imaginary categories based on individual mood and generated by mental and emotional instability.
  • From the basic societal foundational unit of a father, mother and children to a free-for-all arrangement that provides cultural, financial and legal incentives away from the nuclear unit that provided a rock-solid foundation for the natural world for thousands of years.
  • From a military that has traditionally existed to protect the nation by producing hardened soldiers who can rise to the occasion when dire situations demand it to a coddled collection of recruits that can't be subjected to any genuine adversity for the sake of preparation.
  • From a government that was designed to be by the people and for the people as an entity to support and protect the people to an apparatus that serves only the financial and power interests of the elected individuals in charge.
  • From a mainstream media that once practiced integrity and garnered a commensurate reputation to an untrustworthy collection of biased and narrative-driven manipulators who filter what you see and hear based on the directives of their superiors, regardless what the truth may be.
  • From book, movie and music industries that proudly produced quality content to a cabal of hive-minded cohorts that flood the public with examples of what they'd like to see in the world, as opposed to what the world actually contains.
  • From a country that understood what true solidarity was immediately after the 9/11 attack to a population filled with upside-down philosophies that include a respectful nod toward the man who orchestrated the deaths of nearly three thousand civilians in a single day in 2001.
  • From a country that understood how prayer in school provided a generic moral compass to a country that uses tenuous interpretations of the Establishment Clause to remove the influence of a higher power, therefore sending children the message that they aren't ultimately accountable for their actions.
  • From a country that boomed in population, industry and wealth after World War II to a country that now replaces its narcissistic and shrinking population with millions of undocumented immigrants that have not been vetted to assess what they can positively contribute to our society.
  • More examples are possible of course, but the gist of all of them is this:

Our culture has traded truth for gratification.

According to the progressive Left, these aforementioned developments are welcome changes along the way toward a more perfect world.

Anyone possessing hard-earned wisdom will already recognize the havoc these developments have caused and will continue to cause.

The havoc will continue of course until the damage suffered has gathered to such a degree that natural course correction will organically rise without centralized prompting.

Such a pity that the cultural contrarians could have saved us all this self-immolation by simply heeding the voices from the past who already lived through unnecessary, avoidable atrocities, easily identified from far too numerous examples in documented history.
