Decline

The West is officially in decline. But what does that mean and how does that manifest in reality?

As is often the case, what happens here in the United States happens first in Europe.

Who would have guessed that citizens in the UK would get months or years in prison for literally merely saying negative things about other citizens or the government?

Yet that is exactly what's been happening recently in Great Britain.

How many of you out there read 1984 by George Orwell at some point, and honestly pondered how that could possibly happen?

I mean seriously. How does a nation go from being free to being completely controlled by their government?

The answer is obviously incremental changes through time. However, each of these incremental changes must somehow degrade the checks and balances already in place to protect the population from tyranny.

If you want to know how the population can be fooled into accepting tyranny piece by piece, think back to several recent events when governments took the opportunity to violate personal freedoms:
  • During the beginning and following two years of the COVID epidemic, United States and Canada enforced many restrictions on the population, under the premise of protecting those at risk. They said only "essential" workers could go in to the office, causing interruptions not only in services but also income for many Americans. Then they fired many medical workers for refusing to get vaccinated. They took benefits away from military personnel who did not want to be vaccinated. They forced churches and bars to close, artificially deflating the numbers of attendance across the country. They closed public beaches and arrested people who dared to lay down a blanket and get some sun and fresh air. They forced school children in their formative years to wear masks to school despite all the evidence in Europe that COVID was not dangerous for children the way it was for elderly adults. The Teacher's Union fought to get all classrooms online instead of in person, guaranteeing that education would suffer in quality.
  • When the Canadian truckers exercised their free speech and blocked roadways in Canada in order to protest the overreach of COVID regulations, the Canadian government not only froze all the truckers' personal bank accounts, they also shut down and confiscated any crowd funding that supporters had donated to the truckers' cause.
  • Social media has made no secret about suspending and banning accounts for hate speech. But what is hate speech other than speech some people don't want to hear? If the government has the ability to detain you and imprison you simply for saying things they don't like, such as a criticism of the government itself as currently in the UK, then how is speech truly free?
  • During 2020, crowds of people raged through streets in the US and the UK, assaulting police, injuring civilians, destroying police cars, looting businesses and burning businesses down to the the tune of billions of dollars. The media championed the perpetrators, called them mostly peaceful, Kamala Harris bailed them out of jail and district attorneys changed the rules and didn't even prosecute most of them.
  • Yet, when an innocent girl is murdered by immigrant criminals in the UK, the protestors who reacted by causing the same kinds of carnage in the UK were treated as criminals, brought up on charges, and everyone who even retweeted or shared a link on their social media in support of the protesters are being arrested and prosecuted.

The double standard will only hold up so long before something blows.

For too long the Western global elite have been mucking around with our laws and our systems of justice, with apparently nefarious intent disguised as 'being on the right side of history.' The common man on the street has been entirely bamboozled by the whole systemic racism grift created in university staff rooms.

No matter which side of the aisle you prefer to stand, every single adult in the United States should be keenly interested in and disturbed by the increasing arrests, fines and incarcerations for having the wrong opinion.

The mistake a large portion of the US population is making is they are supporting the current arrests because they think the correct people are being punished. They apparently don't realize that once the precedent is set, such abuse of power can change directions overnight.
