Ah, projection.
That handy, dandy, all-purpose tool for simultaneously lifting yourself up while destroying your enemy. How does this magical weapon work? Rather than lean on the simple definition, which is "assigning your own traits to others," I'll provide you a real-life example. For eight years the mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, etc.) told us that Donald J. Trump would push the United States into a war. In those eight years, Trump did no such thing. The wars we're supporting right now happened after Trump left office. For eight years the mainstream media told us that Donald J. Trump would ruin the economy. In those eight years, Trump did no such thing. During his time as president, Trump broke records for low unemployment for all Americans, especially Blacks and Hispanics. Look it up. How many of you know about Opportunity Zones created by Trump to assist entrepreneurs in impoverished urban areas? Look it up if you want to prove me a liar. For eight years the mainstream media told us that Donald J. Trump would divide the country. In those eight years, Trump did no such thing. Instead, the mainstream media spent the entire eight years accusing Trump of dividing the country with no evidence other than 'mean tweets,' thus creating the illusion that Trump was dividing the country. For four years the mainstream media told us that Donald J. Trump would never leave office if he lost the election. For four more years they told us if ever elected again, he would never leave the White House. Though Trump claimed the election was stolen, and protestors were arrested on January 6th, 2021, Trump in fact left office and Biden took over without incident on January 20th, 2021. For eight years the mainstream media told us that Donald J. Trump would destroy democracy. In those eight years, Trump did no such thing. In fact, all the censorship from social media companies and corporations occurred in one direction, toward conservatives. Trump himself, a sitting US president, was thrown off of Twitter ("X") due to unsubstantiated accusations of threatening democracy, despite having 88 million followers on the platform. Also in all those eight years, how many of you had your rights as a voter in a democratic republic taken away? Zero would be the accurate answer. In retrospect, all the terrible things that the media told us Trump would or might do became nothing more than negative predictions that never came to pass. However, in the minds of those who feed on such negative propaganda, the only thing that stopped our country from sure destruction was the inauguration of Joe Biden as president. In those same minds, the only person who can stop Trump from destroying our country is Kamala Harris. Is projection a real thing? Apparently so, as real-world evidence of all these dire predictions from the media aren't necessary for approximately half the country to believe them. Ask yourself: What has happened to the world in terms of war, our country in terms of inflation, our economy in terms of tax dollars spent in support of millions of undocumented aliens, our freedoms in terms of regulations and inflated prosecutions, our public safety in terms of relaxed punishments for crime, and racial division in our country since Trump left office? Then accuse Trump again of all these negative outcomes. Now you know what projection is by demonstrating it yourself. |
