Self-destruction can manifest in many forms. Let's take a look at one of the vehicles by which these many forms are delivered.
If you ask most people what rebellion is, you will typically get some form of "fighting against the establishment" or "rejecting tradition." What you won't usually get as a response is: "Rebellion is a vehicle of self-destruction." Rebellion as a dispassionate concept is simply the resistance of one force against another. Rebellion in times of tyranny could be considered a righteous act if the tyranny infringes on God-given human rights, such as life and liberty. However, rebellion as practiced in 21st century western societies is often an act of self-destruction. The publicly acknowledged victim groups that have recently sprung up like weeds in a neglected garden have been a catalyst in most modern versions of rebellion. As these victim groups seek to procure the highest position on the victim hierarchy, their voices and complaints grow more and more shrill. A bitterly ironic twist in this scenario is that efforts by these obnoxious dissidents to generate sympathy often generate revulsion instead, as demonstrated here and here. Irony permeates the public square as these spoiled malcontents become increasingly bizarre in their attempts to be noticed and acknowledged. The end result of this wearisome exercise in narcissism is that the majority of the population automatically relegates them to the inferior status of the unintentional self-parody. Which is a fancy way of saying these entitled 'rebels' turn their entire public existence into a ludicrous joke. What is just one example of a form of modern rebellion and the differences between its intended and realized results? Gender Activism Human beings are physical entities that exist in a shared physical reality. They are also biological entities that exist in a biological system sometimes referred to as 'nature.' Individual human beings each possess a brain that can perform an activity known as 'thought.' One of the features of thought is the ability to imagine something that does not exist in physical reality, such as a hobbit or a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. As a result of this ability to imagine things that don't exist in reality, some have imagined more than two genders for humanity, or in their terms, 'non-binary' status. While exploring this imaginary state, one may also hear about 'gender fluidity,' as a means to allow an individual to change gender status or non-binary status according to emotional whim on any given day. Another fork of this gender ideology allows for the production of completely imaginary gender classifications that result in nonsensical (neo)pronouns such as 'them' for a single person, 'em,' 'nem,' 'quem,' 'hir,' 'tem,' 'xem,' 'cir,' 'cyr,' 'zir,' 'demon,' 'jem,' 'kyr,' 'lim,' 'mim,' 'thon,' 'zim,' etcetera ad nauseum. All this is admittedly entertaining in a Jerry Springer sort of way, but let's swing this back to why Gender Activism as a form of rebellion is ironically self-destructive. Since we are all sharing this objective reality that we physically inhabit as human beings, and we don't all think alike, we are sometimes forced to confront a difference in opinion. A difference in opinion has never been the true problem, instead it's the stubborn insistence that the other person must agree with your opinion that becomes the problem. If people who wish to play imaginary games with their biological genders were to limit their expectations to those who share that particular fetish, there wouldn't be much to write about, other than an occasional punchline or two. But because so many persons like to pretend their emotional and mental struggles are self-validating, and then assume the rest of the world should affirm such preposterous arrogance, there is something generated that can be described as friction. This friction unfortunately gives way to confrontation, which sometimes gives way to violence. Gender activists who emotionally condone and philosophically support coercion (moralistic shaming, legal pressure, mob-enforced cancellations and violence) as a means to force their delusions upon the disinterested masses are thus in turn forced to confront a dilemma of their own making: By attempting to force the world around them to embrace their imaginary construct, they generate rejection commensurate with their own level of rebellion against the standards by which the vast majority of the world use to navigate reality. Thus clarion calls to normalize their niche fetish are ironically (in reality) siren calls to self-destruction. Judging by the current state of the public square, an introspective audit of the gender activist's foundational ideology does not appear to be an option. |
